Powered by collaboration
Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. At CCU Fieldlab, you become part of a connected ecosystem where industry, research, and government join forces to accelerate the carbon transition.
The CCU Fieldlab is part of Chemport Innovation Center which is an initiative of Chemport Europe. It's primary goal is to stimulate innovation and connects scale-ups with the right partners, expertise, and funding opportunities. This helps them to accelerate innovation and reduce risks on their journey from pilot to industry. Chemport Europe is responsible for development in the Northern Dutch provinces.

Groningen Seaports is responsible for the harbour and industry areas of Delfzijl and Eemshaven. They provide direct access to world-class industrial infrastructure, logistics, and the facilities of a major seaport.
Another key partner in the ecosystem is NOM, the Investment and Development Agency for the Northern Netherlands. NOM supports innovative companies with funding, expertise, and connections to help them grow and succeed in international markets. For scale-ups at CCU Fieldlab, NOM’s involvement ensures access to financial support and strategic guidance, strengthening the pathway from demonstration to commercial success.
Provincial and municipal governments are also part of the ecosystem. Together, they do more than offer space: they actively lower entry barriers by opening up infrastructure, networks, and regional support — ensuring that scale-ups can grow faster and stronger in an ecosystem designed for sustainable industry.
CCU Fieldlab is closely connected to leading research and educational institutions, ensuring that scale-ups can bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and industrial application.
The University of Groningen and the Zernike Advanced Processing (ZAP) facility are at the core of the region’s innovation ecosystem. Together, they provide advanced laboratories, expertise in sustainable chemistry, and access to top-tier talent. By collaborating with these partners, CCU Fieldlab creates opportunities for scale-ups to validate technologies, co-develop processes, and connect with the next generation of engineers and researchers.
At CCU Fieldlab, collaboration with knowledge partners ensures that innovation is not just tested — it’s grounded in science and prepared for industry.
